Matters of Importance:
- Make sure the house is pre-heated up to 32 degree celcius , 24 hours before placing chicks .
- Ensure there is enough light .
- Ensure Bio-security is in place .
- Make sure there is enough feeding , drinking and floor space for chicks .
- Feeding frequency stimulate feed intake . The more often you feed , the higher the intake and the better the growth .
- Ensure cool , clean water is always available .
- Ensure sufficient clean air , with no draught , at all time .
- There should be no ammonia smell in the house .
- Feeders and drinkers must be distributed evenly through the house .
- Adjust temperature according to chick age .
- Adjust feeder and drinker heights according to chick age and size .
- Purchase day old chicks from a reliable supplier .
- Remove and dispose dead birds properly .
